How are public decisions made in the UK? Who is responsible for what, and how do all the different agencies connect? What’s the difference between a Royal Commission, a public inquiry and all the other boards and committees that consider various issues? How does lobbying work, what’s legal and what’s not, and could we manage without it? How are decisions made accountable, and what is the role of Parliamentary Select Committees? Could we simplify our public decision-making, or is it irredeemably complex?
This 2-hour workshop answers these and many other questions, and offers participants the chance to develop a much better understanding of how public decision-making in the UK works.
