The Centre for Women & Democracy is dedicated to keeping women’s representation on the agenda.

Whether in Parliaments and Assemblies, on local councils or public bodies, we know that women are under-represented, and, as our recent report Unintended Consequences shows, this is set to get worse, not better.

In other words, after over a century of progress, we’re starting to go into reverse.

We don’t think that’s good enough; our target is to create a democracy in which men and women of all communities share equally and are equally heard. We are committed to researching what’s happening, raising awareness, and campaigning for change. Working alone or with partners, we are determined to keep women’s voices in the debate and women’s representation in the widest sense on the agenda.

But to do it we need support from the people who agree with us, and here’s where you can help.

Become a CFWD Supporter for just £15 a year and receive:

• a FREE copy of A Little Political Handbook – the first in our new series of Democracy Works handbooks. It has lots of information in it about British and European political institutions and terms and it will be invaluable for anyone who's interested in understanding more about how our democracy works.
• hard copies of our annual election reports, together with at least one other published during the course of the year.
• our new Democracy Works magazine free to your door three times a year (first edition in October)
• invitations to CFWD events and special rates for seminars and training events

In addition, of course, you will continue to receive our enewsletter and lots of information about what we’re doing and ideas for how you can help.
