Tell the government; our people shall not starve.

 

Women have worked hard; starved in prison; given of their time and lives that we might sit in the House of Commons and take part in the legislating of this country.

 

Free milk will be provided in Hoxton and Shoredith, in Eton and Harrow. What more social equality can you have than that?

 

Unemployment is bigger than a political party. It is a national danger and a national scandal.

 

We have reached a stage in our development when competetive individualism cannot function for the benefit of the community because it cannot secure for the people any certainty of a decent standard of life.
