Constance Markiewicz

4 February 1868 – 15 July 1927

Irish republican politician, nationalist, feminist and socialist, first woman elected to the UK parliament (1918) and first woman elected to the Irish Dáil (1918).

 

A good nationalist should look upon slugs in her garden in much the same way as she looks on the English in Ireland.
