Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone who has supported the Centre for Women & Democracy in its work during 2013.
Amongst many other things we have:
- published Sex & Power 2013: Who Runs Britain? as part of the Counting Women In coalition. This proved very successful, and we are currently working on the 2014 edition which will be out in the New Year
- published research on the 2012 Police and Crime Commissioner elections and spoken on the subject at a workshop run by the Mcdougall Trust who also kindly funded the project.
- developed new training and workshops for women both in the UK and abroad (including Ireland, North Africa and the Middle East) wanting to get more involved in public life or develop political skills
- spoken at many events, workshops and meetings, and continued to campaign for better women's representation at all levels of public decision-making.
We are grateful to everyone for their continued support; 2014 will be another busy year and will include work on the European and local elections, the publication of Sex & Power 2014 and some detailed work on access to politics and parliament.
