CFWD has launched a new online survey to find out what people think about how to increase the number of women MPs.
The Speaker’s Conference, which reported in January, has recommended that: ‘if the political parties do not see an increase in the representation of women in the House of Commons at the 2010 general election, Parliament should give serious consideration to the introduction of prescriptive quotas, ensuring that all parties adopt some form of equality guarantee, in time for the following general election.’
We want to know what people think about this, and what they want to see in terms of women's parliamentary representation. The survey is open until 31 March 2010, and we'll be collating the results and publishing a report in April.
