International Women's Day appeal launched

19 Nov, 2015

CFWD's new project will mark International Women's Day 2016 with the publication of a book of women's political quotations called 'In Our Own Words.'

Women are largely excluded from the standard volumes - over 90% of people quoted are men, and the few women who are included are often not well represented.

'In Our Own Words' will put that right. We will collect over 1,000 quotations from women about politics, government, power, feminism, and much more and make them available both online and in the form of a book which will be available through a number of outlets.

To do this, we need to raise at least £5,000 - if you can help us to do this please go to our Crowdfunder site and pledge as much as you can. We have some great rewards and everyone who helps will be acknowledged in the in the book.

We need to record women's voices on the subjects on which they have much to say but are often not heard. If we can't be what we can't see, we can't be what we can't hear, either. We think women's voices are as worthy of record as men's; if you do too please pledge now.
